However, not all sheds are make equal – even if they look similar from the outside. The strongest sheds usually have large, solid welded sections, rather than thin sheet metal cleats and beams that are bolted together. This is not to say a shed that is bolted together is necessarily inferior for most purposes. It’s just that you want the strongest construction you can get for your money.

As an example, as you will see in the video below, my big shed is at 10m X 21m (probably too big for us really, but you know how it is sometimes with a man and his shed) has fully welded roof trusses, and a minimum of bolted flanges, making it extermely strong. I’ve been inside when the wind was howeling around outside, and while my home was creaking and groaning, the shed was rock solid.

It certainly pays to have a sturdy structure – it’s save and secure no matter what mother nature throws at you.
